Yesterday I went to Bodhi Temple. The name Bodhi comes from Sanskrit and means enlightenment. The temple is located in Anting Town, Shanghai, and was built in 239 AD. It is one of the earliest temples in Shanghai.

There are many ancient trees here, which make the temple look quiet and classic. The believers offer lamps and make wishes here.

We entered the Mahavira Hall. I offered incense to Buddha. Generally, people offer three incense sticks, representing Buddha, Dharma and Monk respectively. They are called 3 treasures in Buddhism.

There are three Buddhas in front of me. The middle one is Sakyamuni Buddha who once appeared in our world, and preached for 49 years after his enlightenment. The Buddha on the left is Amitabha Buddha in the Western Paradise. The Buddha on the right is the Medicine Guru Buddha in the Eastern Pure Glaze World.

On their back, there is Guanyin Bodhisattva. Guanyin Bodhisattva has a very important position in China, and known by all Chinese. She always helps people get rid of suffering. Her main character is mercy.

This hall is the palace of the Dizang Bodhisattva. DiZang is known by people for his great willpower. His will is that as long as there is one person suffering in hell, he will not leave this world.

In Chinese culture, Buddhism and tea are closely related. I will talk about this topic in my next video.

The weather is so very good. Thank you for touring with me.
