During the years from 200 BC to 53 BC, one day Wu Lizhen felt exhausted for cutting wood, he randomly plucked some tea leaves and put them into his mouth. After eating tea leaves his tiredness was completely removed. His mother and neighbors were also getting healthier and stronger physically as they began to drink the water through boiling tea leaves.

It was not easy to get the leaves of wild tea trees, so he tried to plant tea trees by himself. After all the hardships, he cultivated a tea garden to plant tea trees at the highest peak of Meng Mountain, in today’s Sichuan Province of China. Since then, people started to plant tea trees.
